Co-founder, Jane Sturtz, trained as a counsellor at Wessex Counselling Service and has a Westminster Pastoral Foundation Diploma in Counselling which she gained in 1995. She is a Senior Accredited Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and abides by the Code of Ethics. She is also registered with United Kingdom of Registered Counsellors. She has been in practice for thirteen years.
Before and whilst training as a counsellor, Jane worked as a professional for fourteen years at Bath Centre for Voluntary Service (Bath CVS). She began by co-ordinating an established local furniture scheme for those on low or no incomes, after which she took on the role of Information and Resources Officer. Finally, for the last seven years at Bath CVS, she was Training and Administration Officer, where she ran a government funded 'Advancing Good Management' scheme, enabling Bath CVS to specifically target and work with the most marginalised groups in the community.
All our Network counsellors are fully qualified and have years of experience in the field. They are Registered Accredited members of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, or UK Council for Psychotherapy, and all adhere to the British Association for Counselling Codes of Ethics and Practice.
We have all undergone at least five years of our own therapy, and are in regular supervision.
